The game saw a balanced attack from Syracuse with contributions from multiple players and stellar performances from both goaltenders.
1st Period:
The game started with a quick bang for Syracuse as Leah Landry opened the scoring with an assist from Neve Padulo. Landry wasn’t done yet, as just moments later, she found the back of the net again, this time unassisted, giving the Orange a 2-0 lead in the same shift. Binghamton’s Olivia Saxby got the Bearcats on the board with a solid individual effort, scoring unassisted to make it 2-1.
2nd Period:
Syracuse continued to pile on the pressure in the second period. Bry Treon showed her skill with an impressive unassisted goal, dangling around the Binghamton goalie to extend the lead. Neve Padulo made it 4-1 with an unassisted tally of her own, and Amanda Wheeler capped off the period with a beautiful goal, assisted by Julianna Bucci, making it 5-1 heading into the final frame.
3rd Period:
The third period saw more Syracuse dominance. Neve Padulo netted her second of the game, assisted by Ivy Dietrich and Leah Landry, to make it 6-1. Dietrich then added her own unassisted goal, pushing the lead to 7-1. Finally, Neave Sullivan rounded out the scoring with a goal assisted by KJ Jacobs, bringing the final score to 8-1.
Penalties:
Binghamton was penalized for 4 minutes during the game, while Syracuse played a clean game with no penalties.
Goaltender Performances:
Binghamton's goaltender, Hannah Gordon, played a heroic game in net, facing constant pressure from the Syracuse offense. Despite the heavy shots and the eventual loss, Gordon kept Binghamton in the contest for as long as she could, making several key saves throughout the game. On the other side, Syracuse’s Emma Lacz was steady in net, making crucial stops to preserve the victory.
